Our private hand-building classes offer a personalized learning experience for your group, making them perfect for corporate team-building, bachelorette parties, or birthday celebrations. These classes provide a relaxed and organic approach to working with clay, ideal for those looking to explore ceramics in a hands-on way.

In this 2-hour class, you’ll learn essential hand-building techniques such as coiling and pinching, using simple tools and your hands to create unique pieces. The class offers a calm and intuitive experience, making it a great introduction to the tactile nature of clay.

At the end of the session, you’ll select your best piece, which we’ll fire and glaze for you. Your finished work will be ready for pickup 5-6 weeks after the class.

To book a private hand-building class, please email us at class.miekimstudio@gmail.com with your desired date, time, and number of guests. Once your booking is confirmed, you can make payment via our website.

General Availability: 
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 10am-12pm, 1-3pm, 3-5pm, 5-7pm, 7-9pm. 
Saturday: 2-5pm
Sunday:  2-5pm

* Full payment must be made in advance of the class. Changes and cancellations are possible with 14-day notice. Please write to us at class.miekimstudio@gmail.com, indicating the date and time you would like to change.

Modification or cancellation request via email with more than 14 days' notice:

  • * You'll receive 50% of the class fee as store credit, which has no expiration date.
  • * If we can manage to find a replacement for your spot, you'll receive full credit, minus a $25 administration fee. There is no expiration date for store credit.
  • * You can transfer your class registration to friends or family to avoid losing the fees.

 

Modification or cancellation request via email with less than 14 days' notice:

  • * For last-minute requests, no credit is issued. 
  • * If we can manage to find a replacement for your spot, you'll receive full credit, minus a $25 administration fee. There is no expiration date for store credit. 
  • * You can transfer your class registration to friends or family to avoid losing the fees.

 

Absences :  Students are responsible for attending all classes.

  • * 2 weeks class: If a student is absent during the second week of an introductory class, our team will trim the piece on behalf of the student. 
  • * 6 weeks class: We will do our best to find you a spot in another class when there is an absence from other classes. Although, make-up classes are NOT something we can guarantee to offer. 
  • * Glazing classes: If you miss your final glazing session, we will do our best to find you a spot in another class. In the case there is no availability, we will glaze your piece with a white glaze. Or you have the option to bring your bisque pieces home and bring back to glaze them in the future session if you are planning to join the class again. 
  • * Open-studio: we do not offer replacement sessions for open-studio sessions.





Private Class: After the confirmation of your session date and time through email, the total amount is payable by debit or credit card on our site. 

For Other Classes: The total amount is payable by debit or credit card on our website.
