This is for people who wish to work independently from home. This is how it works.
1. Pick up your clay: safe curbside pick-up at the studio. (shipping is available with an additional fee. Please contact class.miekimstudio@gamil.com once a purchase is made.
2. Drop your kit: You can write us an email to drop your works off at our studio for firing once your projects are complete. . You have one month to finish your project. You have a month to complete your project.
3. Firing and glazing: we will fire your work and glaze them with Matte White Opaque glaze, up to a maximum of 8 pieces (There is $10 fee per additional piece and extra fee for tall pieces: extra kiln space for firing). You will be contacted for pick up once firing is over in about 4 weeks.
What’s Included in the kit:
- 5kg of Beige Stoneware
- Clay cutter
- Sponge
- ‘Hand Building Tool Guide’ that explains kitchen tools that can be easily found at home + explanation of how to use them.
- Glazing and firing of your creations (in Matte White Opaque glaze in the second photo) - maximum 8 pieces ($10 per additional piece).
- Tools in the picture are only examples. You can use kitchen tools that can be easily found at home for this project(ex; a spoon, a wooden spatula, a wooden roller, etc).
Cancellation Policy
Modification or cancellation request via email with more than 14 days' notice:
* You'll receive 50% of the class fee as store credit, which has no expiration date.
* If we can manage to find a replacement for your spot, you'll receive full credit, minus a $25 administration fee. There is no expiration date for store credit.
* You can transfer your class registration to friends or family to avoid losing the fees.
Modification or cancellation request via email with less than 14 days' notice:
* For last-minute requests, no credit is issued.
* If we can manage to find a replacement for your spot, you'll receive full credit, minus a $25 administration fee. There is no expiration date for store credit.

Absences : Students are responsible for attending all classes.
* 2 weeks class: If a student is absent during the second week of an introductory class, our team will trim the piece on behalf of the student.
* 6 weeks class: We will do our best to find you a spot in another class when there is an absence from other classes. Although, make-up classes are NOT something we can guarantee to offer.
* Glazing classes: If you miss your final glazing session, we will do our best to find you a spot in another class. In the case there is no availability, we will glaze your piece with a white glaze. Or you have the option to bring your bisque pieces home and bring back to glaze them in the future session if you are planning to join the class again.
* Open-studio: we do not offer replacement sessions for open-studio sessions.
Payment
1 day Class: Total amountpayable by debit or credit card on our site
2 Week Classes:Total amount payable by debit or credit card on our site
6 Week Classes: Deposit of $100 payable by debit or credit card on our site. Balance payable by e-transfer before the start of the 6-week sessions. You will receive an email on April 29th, two weeks before the first week of sessions with follow-up payment instructions. The final payment will be due on May 1st at 11pm.
Open Studio: Total amountpayable by debit or credit card on our site
Private Class: After the confirmation of your session date and time through email, the total amount is payable by debit or credit card on our site.
